oil change light?

hey guys how do i turn the oil change light off? i just did a oil change on my wifes '00 and now the light keeps coming on and off randomly. is there a sensor that i can bypass to keep it from coming on?

Idk about any sensor by pass, but I know if you hold the trip reset for 15 seconds it resets the oil light, I think it blinks to confirm or something like that.

It will say in your owners manual.

To reset the "OIL CHANGE" light, press and hold the "TRIP/OIL RESET" button on the instrument panel for 12 seconds. When the light flashes and then goes out, the system is reset.

turn the key to the "on" position and hit the gas 3 times all the way to the floor. it seems to work on most chevys
