oil pressure gauge

Ok, i went to start my car up today, and i turned the ignition... and the pressure gauge pointed straight up as usual... but after i started the car it stayed there.. i was talking to a guy, he said i need a new gauge, im not sure what it is.. but im sure the oil pressure is not that high. Any thoughts?

My car did that for awhile as well. Mine ended up being the oil pressure sending unit, I've heard that these go bad on a lot of fbodies.

You could just take it to a mechanic.

get an aftermarket gauge, or a new sensor (they run about 5 bucks and are much less reliable than the gauge) is that in your '80? if so find what the gauge came from second gens didn't have oil pressure gauges

ok I just knew your last post you talked about a second gen. the factory gauges were so inaccurate it was worse than the idiot light, put a cheap autometer in

another problem that just poped up, the tach, which the oil pressure gauge is on the bottom right of the tach, is getting stuck around higher rpms like it will get stuck around 4000, ill let my foot off the gas, and it will stay there for a sec and then drop right down to where it should be
