D isnt bad until you get above 40 I think (not sure about the 3.4s), then it keeps shifting back and fourth in the 40s since OD isnt kicking in.
Someone once said D is good for racing, and OD is good for regular driving. I think I agree with that. I raced my friends Mustang GT in D from 60 and it kept up with him far better than OD

i dont think you guys know whats really going on...drive is gears 1, 2, and 3 with engine braking. overdrive is 1, 2, 3, and 4 with no engine braking.

When I raced my friends stang in D, I got up to way higher rpms without the shift. D still will do computerized shifting... I still get od when im in D somtimes, I dont know why.
