abs inop means there was a problem with teh abs system, may have just been too low a voltage.Take the car to advance or similar, and have the alternator and battery checked, you may have a drain on the battery, but they hate being discharged (that's why the bravada has an optoma yellow top not red)

ABS sucks, don't worry about it. Threshold braking is better anyways.

if you know what that is abs is handy if you know how to use it, but for racing is useless

not having it makes you learn how to drive in crappy weather real quick.

I never noticed a difference, but I learned to drive without (my first car had 4 wheel drum manual brakes and I lived on a dirt road in MI)

Comparing threshold braking to ABS braking, threshold braking will stop the car faster. ABS allows inexperienced drivers to maintain control when panic-braking.

If my ABS light ever came on, I'd pull the gauge cluster and pull the bulb for the idiot lamp, then pull the fuse for the ABS box too.
