question?

Hey the last 2 days my car has been doing this weird popping noise when i first start moving in 1st and sometimes shifting into second, it wasnt bad at first but today it was worse and when i got out of my car i could smell clutch , im gonna look at it tomorrow but just wondering if anyone could think of what it might be?

Check your trans fluid when your car is warmed up. My sisters car did that for a while and that was the problem.

i was thinking about it and i think the springs in my clutch might be going bad but im not sure i need to probably just buy a new clutch i was thinking about it anyways.

Not bad at all, with the engine tranny layout it's so much easier than a front wheel or all wheel drive car.

ok thanks thats what i was thinking, it seems pretty straight forward

not too hard really, the hardest part about it is in your driveway there is no room. a lift makes it really easy

the driveway isnt really a problem cause i have a shop that i can go to that has full lifts and everything that i would need.

archemedes 02-04-2006 08:21 PM

that makes it really easy. Use the alignment tool and it's real simple

2000v6cam 02-05-2006 02:08 AM

k thanks thats all i wanted to know

2000v6cam 02-08-2006 01:53 AM

could anyone take a guess on how long it takes to change a clutch i know how to do it but i only have a couple hours after i get off work that i can get to the shop to do it

archemedes 02-08-2006 06:50 PM

doesn't take real long. I'd want more than a couple hours just to be able to check things out, are you having the flywheel resurfaced?

Yeah, ive pulled many trannys and its not too bad, but id still leave yourself at least a few hours

ok cool thats all i wanted to know cause i know how to do it but when ive read through the steps they make it sound really hard but know it will all make sense when i see it and yea im getting the flywheel resurfaced.

thats the truth man!! it seems easier once you can actually see the parts and what your working on rather than diagrams and lengthy descriptions
