Quick Question
My Camaro has 185k miles on it it's a 94 model. My question is this: Should I try to upgrade this motor or is it too ( i don't even want to say it) close to "the yard" to start work on it now? I have read alot of your posts about engine upgrades and want some more power but need your opinions first.

i would just think it depends on the condition too cause my 3.8 has about 123,000 but they were all like highway miles and never ran really hard and u can tell it runs and pulls really strong, but i still am not going to do stuff like any type of forced induction unless i rebuild a bunch of stuff first

Thanks for replyin guys!! first off let me say that I do indeed have a 3.4L V6 in my ride it has 185k like I mentioned but it's still pretty stout, meaning it pulls hard and still has the get up and go feel to it but with that many miles I didn't know whether I should start modding the engine for more power or what. I have also thought of swapping out for an LS1 or LT1 didn't know which would be better although I have heard bad things about switching out the power plant in these things. Anybody got any life learned lessons? lol thanks again peeps for the feedback

You could always rebuild the motor thats in it, and then start with the mods. Or start with the mods, if the engine starts to have problems, rebuild it, unless its really messed up. That's what I most likely will do, when mine gets bad. I've been doing some minor performance mods on my 220,000 mile Camaro, and more major ones planned in the years to come.

Sweet thanks for the help guys, I think I'm gonna stick with my 3.4L and start modding it and like camaro94 said fix it when it breaks lol. Besides I always wanted to have a V6 and pull up beside one of those stock GT boys and surprise em a bit. By the way what would be the first and kinda cheapest engine mod for these cars? I have absolutely NO mechanical skills whatsoever but I can learn quick and have the tools if needed.
