Radiator Fan Doesnt Kick on.. Ever
Last Night I went Drag racing, And when I was in the staging lanes, I'd shut the Car off to prevent it to heat up. However, I was Staged and while waiting for the other guy to stage, I looked down and my temp. Gauge read 260* I Didnt even wait for the lights to come down the tree. I got to the end of the 1/8 mile and the temp was down to 145* I was like ********!! So i poped the hood while going down the return road at 20 mph.
I bought a new fan switch thing mounted on the firewall a while ago, and ended up not needing it. So I went back to using the old one. So today, I put that new one back on and it didnt do a thing. I hot wired the fan and it kicked on.. Andthe First thing I checked was ALL the Fuses. Not one was bad.
Could it be the Temp sending unit on top of the manifold? I have another one on the side of the block which goes to the gauge.
I dont know what is going on. I screwed with it quite a bit today, getting it above 220*...

Hi, the same thing happened to me. Everything started after i put the MAF on, because the last owner took it off, so i bought it without it.
There's no problem as long as i drive at normal speed, but if i let the engine run without cruising, like in a traffic jam or something the temp starts to raise. What the hell can it be?? By the way the SES light turns on when i hit the gas pedal and then goes off, i believe this happens mostly when the engine temp is reaching the normal range that turns the fan on. i had an old post about this problem. Thankx

theres nothing wrong with a switch as long as you run a fuse to it. mine has served me well.
oh yeah make sure you use a heavy enough duty switch for it so you dont fry it. i used a moroso toggle switch.
