remote battery

Anyone offhand have the number for the battery of the alarm remotes? Im looking for a 97 one... I dont think the battery changed, but Im probably gonna need a new one... Is it somthing I can get in store, or do I have to get it from the dealer? I went there today to check prices, and its like 100 just to get a remote and have it programed... so f that. Batteries are like 10 bucks.

Just open up the key fob and look at the number on the battery, then go to radio shack and buy one. Less than 10 bucks forsure! Mine is a CR2032

If you don't mind waiting a week for your batteries.

.....it took me less time to grab a butter knife and stick it in that little slot on the remote and twist it open than it did for me to post this message. You don't even have to take it off the key RING. Just twist it open and pry the battery out.

I'll bet they're all the same battery......CR2032. But when you DO change the battery, make sure you reset the remote by: "Pressing Lock & Unlock at the same time for 7 seconds near the car". I forgot to do that and it took about 1 minute to find the signal everytime I tried unlocking it. After doing that for a few weeks I finally remembered to reset it.

I think pretty much all of them are the cr2032, except the corvette with the passive unlock system, it takes a bigger one. I just get the batts at right aid, since its the closest, 4 or 5 bux for 2 of um. I myself have never reset the darn thing, wonder if it would work any farther away if I did, hmmm?
