Rotor upgrade questions
I have to start somewhere finding out as much info. no better place then here. Since i should be getting 500-700$ back in taxes. I decided to go with rotor upgrade not as much preformance but appearence since i have the c5 wheels they really stand out . But i will go to get them when the spirng rolls around .
So i just was wondering what everyone has, I assume alot have the r1 concepts i think there called
But just let me know what you have any any problems or benefits from them and what you think.
I am also thinking about get them powder coated because i dont want to keep spraying them to maintain them . Any idea of how much is cost to get this done ?
When looking for new rotors what should i look at besides drilled and slottedor jsut drilled or jsut slotted and whats better to get.
And last but not least fitment.
Will my calipers that come on the 98' camaros fit on new rotors.
Or do i need to buy new ones when i upgrade after this winter .
Besides looking on site for camaros how do i know if they are right for my car ?
o yeah i will not be doing this myself since i have no idea on how to bleed brakes and i dont wanna mess up my brakes that coud end ugly woo

For this type of thing, ebay isnt a good idea. I dont really have any particular places in mind to tell you to goto to get some, but just make sure they arnt some stock rotors that have been drilled and slotted, if they are the heat can make them crack since you've destroyed the structural integrity of the rotor.

phate your my hero you always comment me within like 5 minutes of psoting
yeah i know that much about the integrity thats true for a bunch of things you drill like gurders (spelling). But people really drill and slot stock rotors ?

Size should be no issue really unless you plan to change calipers, and the size of your new wheels. This is a very easy install taking about 30 minutes. Pick your favorite flavor and slap'em on there.

I would think again about powdercoating.. I personally think that would be a waste of money. Just leave them how they are... They have parts that are going to constantly be rubbing agaisnt them, it just seems pointless to do. Its like painting your tread or somthing, it will look good until you get in your car and drive 5 miles.. Plus I wouldnt think that could be safe if it cracks off while youre driving. Id just leave it how it is. Rotors are meant to take beatings.

ok.. i have the r1concept rotors which i got through there store on ebay..
i love them.. they are great.. they are not just drilled stock rotors .. this is a legit company i did my research before i bought them..
and as for powdercoating it would be a waste.. IMO.. unless u just want a particluar color center and lip.. due to the fact that if you get decent rotors they will bbe what is called zinc coated and they will not ever rust.. factory rotors are not zinc coated so they do rust and chaneg colors.. in zinc coating i think you can choose between black zinc, gold zinc, and silver zinc.. i have silver
