Is This Safe??

to answer the question..no..nitrous is NEVER "safe" and does not offer ANY definites..i would not run nitrous unless you are prepared AHEAD of time to blow the engine or some other component..sh*t happens..even on as small as a 30 shot..however..with the proper supporting mods (car recently tuned, fuel filter, spark plugs/wires, etc)..i myself would not hesitate to run a 50 shot if that were my car..i say do those things first..run it..and enjoy!

Sorry it took so long to respond I have been in indiana on vacation for a week but I am going to save up a little more money and order that kit I think it is pretty safe. the motor is under warranty for another 1 1/2 or 60,000 miles so if the **** hits the fan I will just uninstall it an say it just blue up

I would never run nitrous. Just get a new cam, and rockers, then get it tuned. Screw NOS. N/A is the only way to go. Safe, reliable, and it gives a peace of mind knowing the NOS cables wont leak or explode and screw your car up.
About that 60's comment. No way in hell a newer 5.0 could even come close to keeping up with a stock 60's Muscle Car. Do you realize the 5.0 Stang now adays has 240 HP. The GT has 300. Some of those 60's Muscle Cars came off the line with 500 HP. So unless you mean hopped up 5.0's you are on some good weed man. Also, that would be unfair.

nitrous is as safe as a big cam, anytime you bolt on parts for more power the chance of damage is there especially if you don't do supporting mods (add a 1050 cfm carb to a stock 350 and it will last a few thousand miles before the cylinders get washed down enough to wear bad and the gas in the oil may kill bearings)

my dads camaro had a small block in it. it was pretty quick around 350 horse. his best 1/4 time i think was a 15.2 at 99. hes a really good driver and if you notice his MPH doesnt match his ET at all. obviously he couldnt hook up but that goes to show you, that technology will usually win over big discplacement and big cams and high compression. now i understand that there are a ton of exception but if your talking on the street, then i would honestly have to say a 450 horse monster would lose to a 300 horse STI. simply because of where we are at now with technology and everything we can do now compared to the late 60s early 70s. just IMO.

awd doesn't lose as much as you'd think, it makes up for alot with traction also, but yes a 450 hp car with traction will beat a 300 hp car, or z/28 owners would be getting killed constantly by civics

sorry thing is most of teh suspension design we use today was developed in teh 60's, you put a good set of radial tires on a 60's muscle car (many came from teh factory set up for racing) and they will hook up pretty well
