Seafoam

Okay, so Ive decided to clean out my systems with seafoam today.. Last night I found a guide on how to do it, I think it would be about the same, but do I have those same black hoses on my engine? If not, where can I put it in otherwise?

http://members.nuvox.net/~on.roz/cars/z28/seafoam.html

Does anyone agree that is an alright guide to follow? Thanks

Well, I followed the instructions and completed the process, and I have to say that, yes, I am satisfied. It does feel like it idles smoother, responds better, and runs better... Ill have to see if it affects my milage at all. The whole process was pretty simple, but after I started her back up, I had an SES light all the way to the gas station. Then I filled up and when I was leaving it went off. Im assuming this might just be because I loosened all that **** up, and it might have affected the O2 sensor or somthing. Anyways, $20 later, its a pretty good purchase.. My idle is lower now, which is nice, and it responds nicely.

I love seafoam, I haven't put any through the LS1 yet so I'll go buy some on my next day off.

seafoam is a great product, when I worked at the dealership we used the same stuff in any car that had a slight miss (gm calls it top engine clean)

paarman, Seaform is a great product, but I highly recommend doing a couple other things at the same time or afterward.

- Oil and filter change
- Fuel Filter Change
- Air Filter Change or Clean (Clean for K&N or Holley Powershot)
- All oxygen sensors
- Plugs and Wires
- Injector clean

You'll be glad you did.

I agree.. Im getting an oil change in >500 because thats when Im supposed to anyway... I will probably change the fuel filter... Gotta clean the air filter soon... What do I do with the o2 sensors? replace them?.. Probably wont due wires, but I need to change the plugs badly, havent since I got my car... and I thought seafoam does clean the injectors?

Does anyone have an answer to why I threw a code after doing the seafoam treatment?

seafoam doesn't do the injectors, unless you pour a can in the tank, and even then it's not that great (just not strong enough) o2 sensors are in the 85,000 mile service (that's also when the wires should really be done, even though they say they can go 100,000)

yeah I put a can in the tank, so what would I do otherwise, take it in for service on the injectors? Ill have to do the wires and sensors soon, I just dont have the money now.. Id rather save up for my exhaust and headers in January

the best way to do it is hook a machine up to the fuel rail and run the car on the cleaner
