Most of the sponsors on LS1Tech carry one of the major suppliers of the Short Stick.

There are many versions.... WS6Store, Lous Short Stick, and one thats a little different, UMI Performance Short Stick,

I have the UMI performance one, its like the others, except that its machined, so that when mounted to the shifter base it the shifter handle leans towards the driver. This makes it easier to grip a good shifter handle (like the factory hurst) like a pistol.

One downside you should know is that these things are not insulated by rubber, the insulation is for sound. They transmit more sound at low speeds than your stock one... in fact a lot more sound, but I think it sounds neat..... you gotta pay to play though.

Im not quite sure I understand the question.
The UMI short stick has a strong angle towards the driver and is about 2" shorter than the stock and aftermarket hurst short stick.
I dont have any problems with reach and the throw is 2" shorter than regular.
I hope that helps.

you should never have to extend your arm to a shifter, basically it's supposed to be when you drop your hand from teh wheel it should naturally fall to the shifter, if it doesn't it will slow shifts down

Gottcha, that's how mine is and it's probably the same thing for Jess. My dad has a late model Mustang and I hate it because you have to reach out for the shifter. It's so uncomfortable to drive it.

exactly, it's one of those things that bugs me when guys do all this stuff for more power, then screw it up with something that makes it harder to drive.Really I was more curious about the reach than anything

haha. my dad has a Hurst Competition Plus 4 speed some stuff like that shifter. talk about reaching out. you **** near smash your knuckles into the dash every time you go to 1st or 3rd. stick is about 1 foot long and the throw is gotta be a foot or so.lol
