So I think my car has an oil consumption problem

Well I think my car has an oil consumption issue. I don't think its very serious but it is there......i think. My car is programmed using an HPP3 but thats about it. Its been at least 3000 miles or more since i last noticed but i jsut checked it today and i was about a quart low.
I am assuming this is could be caused by the wonderful phenomenon knows as LS1 piston slap but any input would be nice.

Oh BTW my car has about 37500 miles on it. so its not a high mileage car by any means

what grade and type of oil? How long between oil changes? Many newer cars will use a quart or so when the oil breaks down

5w30 is a bit thin for a gm vehicle (the dealers all use 10 w 30 and that's what comes in everything from the factory)it pretty much has to be leaking though since synthetic oil really won't burn like dino oil does. Of course your miles are pretty low so many of the internal seals are probably bad (a good reason to drive a car seals hate sitting)

Leaking.......I dont see any leaking anywhere. I think its just spitting past some of the seals when i stomp on the gas

Well about your only two places to leak internally would be your valve seals and oil rings. I know there are other places but these are the most common. If your car has sat for long periods of time it might be your valve seals.

Do you get a slight cloud of smoke on start up or some smoke when you get on it? If so- it might be your valve seals. I would doubt its rings since your car is so new and has so few miles. But if the previous person started it and then immediately ripped on it without letting it warm up- (about the worse thing you can do to your motor) your rings might have some abnormal wear..

my LT1 has mad piston slap, especially on cold days.

LT1s leak oil, LS1s burn it.
