my camaro has been acting rough for the past 2 days, so i went to bridesgone autorepair and they quoted me 620, labour is 4 hours, mostly on the spark plug, is it a good price? or should i go somewhere else for an equal quality work? thnx for the help!

ya that's what i was thinking, apparently firestone rated #1 auto mechanic by JD power in 2004, so they must be pretty good, and i also really dont want to do the work myself, dont have the time and energy and the tools to do it.

what exactly are u getting done? cause 4 hours is a long time in a shop, thats a full morning or after noon. and 4 hours for 620, thats $155 an hour labour, thats huge. at the Honda I work at its only 85 per hour, and thats considered resonable to high. so I would get a second opinion.

well the labour fee was only 400ish, the parts were around 230, they replaced 2 spark plugs with platinum spark plug, changed the spark wire, and the spark coil. tax is like 70 bucks

you got a$$ raped..

for that kinda money.. you could've done it yourself.. bought nice set of tools.. couple cases of booze.. Iridium plugs, good set of wires, OEM or aftermarket coil pack and still have $$ for couple tanks of gas ( even with current gas price )

4 hours?? WTF ?!?!?!
Could do all that in less then 2 hrs with lots of drinking smoke break in between..

What they do? charge you for the other 2 hours to let the car cool down?
is wat I would've said

Cost me only $300 for my mechanic to change Crankshaft position sensor, CASE learn, changed belt and 2 idler/tensioner pulley.. ( and to change one of the pulley and belt.. one of the engine mounts has to be removed )

OUCH! RIPPED OFF!!!!

and your car isnt even a V8!!!!
i bet they would have charged you an extra $200 for the extra 2 plugs/wires to use if you had a V8

for that amount of money you couldve bought a decent running V8 engine with the same gas mileage as your V6 then swap it in for way less then what a honda swap costs

sorry man but you got burned

Learn how to work on your own car. What generation camaro do you have? Spark plug/wire changes are a ***** on a 4th gen, but after you've done it once, its not too bad. I can swap plugs now in 30 min whereas on my first time, it took me 2 days (those of you who have actually worked on one with stock manifolds know what Im talking about).

haha, how sad. with the same money you used to get all that done . You could of bought a Torque Wrench, a nice socket set , all the parts you need , and still have money left over to buy some add on's. Also changing spark plugs take's at least 30-40 min's. even less than that time.
