Strange Noise

I havent really did any inspection yet because lack of time..but I can hear this rattle sort of sound, dosent sound from the exhaust....sounds more like near the brake fluid container area....underneath. Also, while accelerating, there seems to be some sort of restriction, like its a slight struggle to get up and go. No rough idleing....its sort of like a "slip feel" but its not a transmission thing. Im guessing change the alternator belt beucause it might be dryrotted because of when my heater hose busted lose and rusty water splashed everywhere that day? what do you think? Hope its not a camshaft thing....ill find out when I change my oil this weekend..
