Strange thud noise from rear

Ive only noticed it this afternoon. I was driving though my neighboor hood and u can hear this thud thud thud thud noise coming from the rear passenger side. I cant pin point out what it is either its like coming from the wheel area. I got under the car once I got in the driveway and nothing looks bad or out of place....any ideas? I just had a high flo carsound cat put on but Its not coming from the cat so I dont think it coulda done anything???

Well if its a thud when you go over a bump, check shock/spring mounts and such. If its a thud going around corners, then check the PHD bar. If it happens during acceleration/decel check you LCA's and torque arm mounts. If its a consistent thud that changes with RPM check your tires.

Thuds are kinda hard to diagnos without being there and hearing them or knowing exactly when they happen..

Very true......I just happend to hear it coming from the rear passenger side just going about 30 though my area and it happens less as I slow down. Other then that kinda hard to tell when Im accel or high speeds due to the exhaust being so loud and yea haha.

I had the same problem right after i put a new rear end in. I thought thats where it was coming from but it was actually the trans mount.

this may sound stupid but my car was thudding like that the other day and i figured i would go with the easy stuff first and it was just the spare tire in my rear fender wasnt completely tightened down. It may be worth checking before u start ripping stuff apart, never hurts to check the easy stuff first lol

Yeah my car used to thud, then when I switched my tires it stopped. Oh, and my buddy who just bought a 96 WS6 has a horrible thud when he shifts from reverse to drive and then accelerates.
