call up Isky, they have a tech guy that takes every dimension and spec of your car, motor, gears and everything and he will tell you what you hsould go with. Then even if you dont want an Isky cam you know what to look for.

Ok- you don't need to remove the front end- I know that for a fact. You do however have to remove the everything forward of the motor including the hood latch. The alt and such don't need to come off. The heads can stay as well.

You can also call comp cams as well- they are very easy to talk to and will help you out-

then of course theres always a custom grind.

also, what about fuel? iv heard that once u start swaping engine internals you need to run a higher octane gas anyone else heard this?

Depends, once you start running big mods (cam, nitrous, forced induction) you need to run the highest octane you can find.

archemedes 12-14-2004 04:56 PM

cam shouldn't effect fuel much, if you change heads and raise compression yes you need more octane

does any one on this site have a lt4 hot cam? or any kind of cam? what im lookin for is a cam that is gonna let me pass emissions, give me some power even if it it oly a little bit, but i want one with a nice sound where it has kind of a ruff idle. someone told me about a trex cam but do they make these for the lt1's? thanx :)

97z2801ss 12-15-2004 02:02 PM

I think ill be goin with the lt4 cam, my buddies car did it sounded nice and very streetable

imported_2fast4u 12-15-2004 02:04 PM

cool i wanna see what it sounds like

FORCE_FED_Z 12-15-2004 09:31 PM

DON'T GET THE LT4 HOTCAM!!!

I have talked to several performance places that said the LT4 makes power but only at higher RPM's-

Call TPiS and other places- they should echo what I said-
