I think I can squash the idea of me getting a Z-28 (I'm lucky getting any camaro as it is, let alone a red one). Heres why:
I have a total loss on my record (had a bad day, totaled my mom's gtp), so theres no hope for a V8 for about 3 years (when the crash is off the insurance record). Also, I live in California. And I happen to be 16.
Theres some **** good reasons for not getting a V8, lol.

yeah same for me. i totalled my last camaro when i was 16. im 18 now, but im not waiting another year. unlike danielle, i dont have any bills so i can afford insurance.

i pay 71 for liability on the camaro, but full as a secondary on every other car, i have a good student discount. and i'm 16 in TN.

I still don't think a stick is more fun, and 99% of the people I talk to who think that are under 25 does that say something to you?

most people get frustrated in the learning process and swear off sticks, people that live in heavily crowded areas get sick of em too.

i don't know if i agree totally that an auto is quicker than a stick when it goes through gears either....there's still a lag when an auto shifts, thats why they sell shift kits. i would imagine a stick w/ a short throw and good driver would shift just as quick as an auto w/ a shift kit

ya but theres always powershifting w/ a stick. i don't do it and wouldn't recommend it but theres the solution for the engine decoupling. i wish we could get an auto and a stick camaro of the same year, both bone stock and see how much diff the times are at the track. i bet ya i'd beat u arch

well i can't argue w/ that but i dunno, its just somethin about getting into a car w/ a stick that gets my heart racin. i love hammerin through gears, i love perfecting clutch work, i love everything about it. and like i said before, auto is the way to go if you have a car built specifically for the track, they're more consistent, they're easier to use, the whole nine. but i really dont think i'd ever give up my stick or my view that sticks make for a more fun time behind the wheel. and whenever someone asks me what they should buy if its gonna be a street car, i'd say stick, if they say they don't know how to drive one, i'd say learn. it's just like riding a bike, everyone that knows how to ride one how to go through the learning process at one point, and it was probably a pain in the *** and no fun, but once u learn it, u don't forget it u just get better at it

the big problem I had with my stick was the last one I lived in Atlanta not a town to drive a stick in (during rush hour you get up to maybe 15 mph) professional drivers have said they would rather drive through LA rush hour than Atlanta, that kills any love for the things
