Well, it's still going...

I'll see if I can post a few pics. Engine is assembled, forged pistons, ARP main studs, and had Viton seals installed - I was told they're better than the teflon seals I had, but who knows? Also went with TS "gapless" rings, and yes they were gapped for boost.

Had the flywheel turned while I was at it (bad shape), and told the shop to check the balance on it....and I couldn't believe how much weight htey took off!! Two big silver dollar sized bores 1/2 way through the thing! - I did have a slight vibration in the car at speeds over 70...especially at light loads and decellaration it seemed like. If I kept a load on the drivetrain, it never SEEMED to vibrate. Hopefully that was the issue all along.

Anyways, I'm just trying to decide how much to assemble prior to dropping the engine in the car. I'll put together as much as I can. I wantr to try dropping in the engine/trans together this time....I HATE lying on a concrete floor for hours. Ever have a back muscle cramp up while you're stuck lying under your car?? You don't want to...

Thanks for the kind words guys...

I've been slowly getting it together, but I've had a few probs with my main transportation vehicles lately. I just had to change out my fuel injectors on the 2000 S-10 you see in the background on the 1st pic thanks to a defective CSEFI injection system that GM should have recalled..... -And I lost ANOTHER Autozone fuel pump on my 90 Cavalier Z24. Dropping the gas tank is no fun...

So far as the Z28 goes, I just need to clean up the engine bay a little bit, drop the engine in and plumb the fuel system, install the MSD boost retard amoung other things. Hope to have it on the road by late spring/early summer, and get the whole car painted come winter. The red oxide primer is gettin old....

Well guys, it keeps gettin closer! Going a lot slower than I'd like though due to my work schedule amoungst other things. I ordered a 4" steel cowl hood and they say it'll arrive in a couple of weeks.

I know I said I'd have this thing running by late spring/early summer - guess I lied!! ......How 'bout late summer to mid fall? lol

It's getting honestly close to firing up. I have no idea how it'll run.

Couple of pics:
