Who here has hooked up an aftermarket Tachometer to thier 3rd gen TBI? I cannot figure it out...:banghead:

don't you have a HEI dis.?? There is a tach. wire that comes out the bottom of the cap. I know cause I forgot to plug it back in one time when I took it off lol no tach.

No, its not HEI..


It has a seperate Coil.. If you want a picture of the Whole setup(My car) I can get a picture... Ive tried 20 diffrent ways... and It didnt work so i sold the tach.. But Im thinking of trying it again..

do i have HEI? i keep trying to figure this out but i have been told yes and no. i need to know so i can get some universal plug wires with the correct ends.

No,you do not have HEI.I have a `91 with TBI and it to has a seperate coil.

You hook it up to the negative side of the coil

Yea, I took the tach apart.. And the spring was Messed up and i never got it back together cause it wouldnt go back together. tiny springs. anyway I'll get a new tach some day..
