I am going to keep my 700 but I want to do somethings to get better highway milage and help my second to third gear problem ( I have to let off to get it to shift into third and if I push the gas back down to far it will jump back into sec). I am going to get a lock up converter I have a 2200 NON lock-up. I want a 2400 LOCK-UP so I can get better mileage while I am traveling and I think it might help my third gear issue becuse I can lock it up so it will not rev as high in third. Hopefully it will keep it from jumping back into sec gear at 100 MPH LOL. But what do you think of this Converter I was looking for TCI but I can find any that are lock ups

Right it never locks!!! thats why I want a lock up but I dont know which one to get whats a good one??? Yank doenst make one for my camaro but they are real expensive anyways

If your getting another converter, get a bigger one, 2200 is WAYY too little, either way you'll get better gas milage because it's going to lock up, get a bigger stall so you'll drop a little more time at the strip.

make sure it's the converter not causeing lock up, the TCC can also cause that, and even a new lock up one won't lock

adam i dont think you know what youre talking about. your first post just shows you know how to read, but saying he needs a bigger torque converter? going smaller in diameter is where you get better performance. im going to assume you meant higher stall, not bigger converter.

i gotta 2600 stall lock up and its great, i don't know the brand, but i bought it from a friend of my stepdads for 100 bucks. Its got furnace brazed fins and all that. definately do it, my old one stopped locking up for a while and i didn't get 4th, do you have that problem?

if you didnt get 4th thats cuza the transmission...a torque converter has nothing to do with shifting.

well i thought that if it didnt lockup in 4th then it would die in 4th or run like crap, but you'd still have it...

it's all in the tcc, teh lockup is what makes the trans actually go to od (I don't know how I just know that's what they told me at the tech school)
