Tranny Problem?

hey guys, just wondering if anyone could help me out with a tranny question or two..

-My automatic transmission when it shifts (at high RPM's) makes a funny noise almost like a whistling noise, and i cant help but think that im losing power when it shifts. Anyone know what the problem could be?

-I have no idea if my car has a shift kit, all i know is that the tires skip when it hits second (around 30mph or so.) I didn't think it did but my friends all think i might because it shifts so hard, i suppose its possible the guy before me had one installed -- anyone else with a stock tranny have the tires hop into second?

thanks alot guys

makes almost a squak sound? if so that's the pump going south. It may have a b&m kit in it those are real common to kill trans parts

werd. i remember a few discussions about these a few years back, i just recently experienced one though. it shifted really late, and clunked with a nice squeak when it finally did.

Autos can be fun, but they seem to have a lot more problems than us gear guys.

Those B&M kits are nice for the "WOW" factor, put one in on the Stage 2 setting and you can make a car with 50hp chirp the tires going into second. They are way too aggressive for my tastes and the fact that their isn't any change in the way it shifts shows its a cheap kit.

I would recommend droppin the pan and checking things out if you get the chance, or take it to a trans shop and have them do a quick diag on it. Once an auto starts to go bad its only a matter of time till it gets a lot worse and you are replacing more parts.

i think i figured out with the squeaking sound was.. a few hundred miles ago i broke a belt, and the sound really started occuring shortly after i put on the new belt.. tell me if its possible that when it shifts some of the pulleys slow down so fast that the belt squeaks? does that makes sense?? cause i put some conditioner on it and the noise went away i think that was the problem

that is possible, now replace it again with the tensioner (the conditioner is for v belts and will ruin a serpetine belt) the tensioner should adjust so it doesn't slip (whenever you change the belt your technically supposed to replace the tensioner also they are cheap)
