update with new engine pics

well after about 10 hours of degreasing, scrubbing, wire brushing, and cleaning my 350 i had it ready for paint. i forgot to take pics before i painted it but my friend did so ill get those from him eventually. instead of taping everything off i just did where the water pump goes and the headers. everything else that i didn't clean or paint it being replaced. im getting chrome edelbrock valve covers, chrome timing chain cover, chrome oil pan and blah blah. so far all i have done is paint it and put my fuel pump block off plate on. i think old rusty bolts ruin the look so i got new zinc plated bolts for that, the timing chain cover and the oil pan. im gonna get the tall style valve cover hold downs when i get valve covers. i should be making around 250 hp at the wheels with this. like 280 at the motor. heres some pics.

Looks good man, what kind of degreaser did you use? I need to put some elbow grease into the engine bay on the 77. :/

I'm assuming you used temp paint for that? You can also get some temp clear coat as well that will help keep it lookin good much longer..

Looks good though- I'm sure you'll be happy with the step up in power.

I typically paint it just after assembly of the bottom end, but have done it with just a bare block. I always use regular automotive paint though (it is good up to about 1200 degrees). Looks good

Yea, I paint the block and heads the same color, without the Manifold/water pump/oil pan on the motor.. that just the its suppose to be done.. And Ive never used cheap paint on a motor.. Usually a Sealer Hi-temp paint..

i used some cheap advance auto parts degreaser. it was like 1.77 a can and i needed used every bit of 2. u spray it on and instantly starts pouring off brown ****. works really good haha. yes, i used the high temp engine paint from dupli color...chevy orange color. thanks for the advice joe, i just might clear coat it. i painted the spark plugs b/c those are no good anyways. half of them are snapped and the other half was like lawn mower plugs that were laying around the garage. thanks for the compliments everybody. if i put all new stuff on it and then painted it everythign else would be orange....i just painted over all the old stuff so that when i put the new stuff on it will actually look new.
