Valve Cover Hieght
Hi,
Nice Clean Site and new to it, so Hi.
On quite a few F-body sites.
Question?
Completing 383 buildup for a 87 Iroc and wondering if
anyone one knows how tall a valve cover you can use
with out having problems with Wiper assembly. Brake Booster and AC Box.
Running AFR CNC 195s with 1.6 Rollers and Stud girdles
so have to get the tall covers.
Looked at the GM licenced Chrome tall with drippers and
baffles as well as others. Want to retain drippers as well as
the baffles.
Live in the sorta; boonies; and no speed shop handy to be
able to play with covers
Any info, help or advise appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks,
I would think with all the third Gen camaros out there
with some pretty potent SB power that someone would
know.
I guess just have to order some and find out. If I have to take wiper assembly off, no biggy.

No, you are wrong. I have a set of tall aluminum valve covers on one of my engines and they clear everything fine. The only thing they are close to are the hoses for the heater core, They are about one inch away. They are far from hitting any thing to do with the brakes. Can you say more about your 383....

Hi,
Thanks for reply.
Found a set I can use. Are the ones I was looking at
originally that I liked.
Am running the AFR CNC 195s with wide body 1.6
rollers with the TPIS MiniRam.
They are the Proform Chrome Bowties but have to clip
the oil drippers to make them fit for my application.
Think I can run my Stud girdles once I modify them.

rockers, but clearance issues under the covers.
As to ECM, using the 87 ECM with stage V TPIS chip.
Going to have to get chip reburned as cam, injector,
ect. ect. has changed.
