i just bought the 88 like alittle over a month ago, waxed it once i got it, noticed the swirls on the hood, and did the rest of the car, but the hood didnt like the wax i guess and the piece between the T-tops and the rear windsheild has swirls on it, but the rest of the paint is good.. i just scrubed it today, and i am begining to notice little chips in the paint, little specs of grey, like the primer all over the place.. you dont notice anything bad unless youre really looking at it.. i was thinking painting the hood black like the 1978 camaros had.. some of them anyway.. have you seen them? Looks good.. but on a third gen? I got my rear louvers on.. They are black..

to my knowledge no camaro came with a black hood when the car wasn't black (at least not factory) snap me a pic and I'll see if I can tell what the problem is, may just need to strip teh wax off, but more than likely the paint is too thin and needs to be repainted

yeah, that's what I would say. Just save up and get the whole car painted.

I just got a quote for repainting mine. Same color repaint is going to be about $2800. That does not include the inner door jams or anything like that. I plan on putting a custom fiberglass hood on with SS stripes also. It is going to cost me about $3500 when it is all said an done.
