What is causing....

What is causing my engine to make a "click" noise like every 25 seconds? I just now noticed it (usually drive with windows up and music).

Hopefully nothing serious

it could be the fans, it could be spark jump, it could be ABS computer rebooting...but with that vague of a description its hard to say...

would you like a list of things? Turn the A/C off and see if it still happens ,if not your low on refrigerant, find the leak and fix it.If it does then you need to see what's turning on and off

I turned off the AC/Heat and the "clicks" went away. Turned it back on and they came back. Now, how do I fix it ?

if it's frequent your a/c is low on refrigerant from a leak, take it in and have the leak fixed

It might be your air pump or one of your relays turning on one of your accessories.

I got the car checked out and had basically ALL the fluids changed (they said there were no leaks). The click only happens when AC/Heat is turned on, so I dunno.

they pressure tested teh system? and used dye. What will happen is next summer you'll hit the a/c and it will blow hot air, it's a safety to keep teh compressor from burning up, when low it will still cool.It does it in defrost because that turns the a/c on since it works faster with the a/c on

okay i have a different opinion on this now...
i was at the in n out drive through today and i heard that same click of the ac clutch bouncing off the wall. i noticed it was about 10-15 second intervals between clicks. i went back to work and asked my boss and he said thats normal when in traffic and at drive throughs n such where it gets all hot.

do you have a factory service manual at work? it would tell what is normal.I know when I worked on them ('95-'96) it was anything under 45 seconds was suspect
