I'm really liking the P-1SC (2nd one) model. Good price mixed with good power output and it is a self contained unit.

FORCE_FED_Z 11-21-2004 05:29 PM

Self contained is nice, but when you have to change the oil in the unit, it is a little pricey, not too much though considerin you only have to do it every 6000 miles.

The D-1 charger is capable of makin more horsepower, but I think its a little overkill for you Chris. The P-1SC is a nice unit and doesn't require the running of oil lines like the other units. It is a PITA to tap the oil pan and install the oil lines.

Do you think upgrading the intercooler would be worth it? Since my engine is mainly stock I will start off with low boost and I was wondering will the high flow intercooler even make a difference in a low boost situtation?

FORCE_FED_Z 11-21-2004 07:25 PM

Its a toss up- it will help slightly now but it will be nice in the future to have. It only costs around $450 to upgrade, but it costs a grand to buy the kit later down the road.

Even if you decided to only run one intercooler you could also sell the twin set and buy a single one and be all set since I am pretty sure you could sell the twin and buy a single and still have money left over.

Sweet idea, BTW don't you run a procharger. If so what model do you run?

FORCE_FED_Z 11-22-2004 12:42 PM

I am currently running the P-600B, its a decent unit and is good enough for now. It does have a pretty loud whistle which I like. If I decide to run more than 15 PSI some day I would probably upgrade but the 600 works and I have it so no need to change it.

I only have the twin core intercooler and I might decide to upgrade to a higher flow unit but we will have to wait and see how the $$ situtation is this spring.
