i painted my springs cleaned my shocks and panhard bar and painted my drums and rear end cover also just so i could take some pics. I also lowered it 1/2 inch in the rear by taking out the upper spring mounts and replacing them with some hose around the top of the spring. first pic is my old drums new ones are on the car.

Must be nice to have free time. Looks good, are you sure you wanna use hose?????

I didn't paint the springs and shocks red b/c i like how it looks black and it would just get dirty faster if it was red.(The shocks are new and were already black. THe diff cover i am going to paint red too. I only had orange paint when i did that a while back and was probly high on fumes from painting everything else in sight.
Im also painting the lower control arms black until i get some UMI red ones but i might replace all the bushings w/ red ones anyway.
I am still debating on whether or not to keep the hose on or put the mounts back in. I can tell the difference in height. I read some other forums that said the hose will be fine and not make noises or anything. Any suggestions on what else to do?

O yeah thanks for the compliments everyone. Im out of school now so hopefully more updates to come.

i know this is an old thread but i didn't want to start a new one so just thought i would bring this one back. im looking into suspension mods again... i got a few questions.

1. is it better to get a whole new sway bar or would i be good with just new end links and cleaning up the stocker bar and painting it?

2. Do bump stops ever where out? thats the black kinda triangle shaped thing that hits the top of the rear end.

3. Since i took out the upper spring mounts which lowered the back of the car does that mess up my rear end being centered? i know an adj. panhard bar would correct that if it was a problem but if it is im going to put them back in.

any other suggestions are welcome

korndogg 02-13-2007 09:51 PM

dude...put the mounts back in. Lower it right if you want to lower it.

blue89vert 02-13-2007 09:55 PM

i was planning on it...thats your only suggestion?

korndogg 02-13-2007 10:04 PM

You dont have to get a new sway bar unless you want better handling or the holes are ovaled out.

Bump stops do wear out but just look at them. If they look worn out then they are. Like if theyre all ripped up and stuff.

blue89vert 02-13-2007 10:08 PM

lol. i want better handling, is bigger better?

korndogg 02-13-2007 10:09 PM
