Ive been hearing this noise for a while now. I dont drive the car often, but id really like to get it fixed. I can hear it better under the car, hence the reason the camera was placed there. Anyway, as you can hear in the video, the noise comes when you start and then when you rev after you let off. My mechanic said he thought it was something like the timing chain hitting the cover due to it being stretched...?

I was worried that maybe it was engine bearings, but he said it wasnt that. Im still concerned about it though.

The noise doesnt seem to match the rpm's, so im not thinking valvetrain. What do you guys think?

I've heard similar comming from my 3.8. But I pretty much narrowed it down the the alternator. Has kinda a whine to it, especially when cold. But then again I dunno how much justice the audio in your video gave what your hearing.

the whine is jsut the starter isnt it ?
but the other noise deff sounds like its coming from something that is spinning because its a constant noise......not that really narrows it down much

i cant really tell what sound ur talking about from that video im with paar though i hear a couple sounds which one are u talking about?
