what yall think

how much horsepower and torque do u think i can get out of my stock carburated 305. and what do u think it would take?

1BADZ 01-26-2005 12:52 PM

hmmm u can get whatver you want... its all about the money....... money is what you have to have to get power out of it...

chevylover930 01-26-2005 01:11 PM

any suggestions on heads, intake, carb. and i have another question how much compresion would i have with 72cc chambers and flat top pistons?

1BADZ 01-26-2005 01:29 PM

i would go with trick flow head... i would go with a edelbrock carb. (double pumper) and i would go with a edelbrock intake.... and when you get your heads.. get headers also... So you can take your headers, intake, and heads to a machine shop and have them do them all out right..... But yah you should be pulling some good power out with those mods there...

im gettin hooker supercomp headers and im gonna run straight pipes with glass packs for the exhaust.i could use cam suggestions too i do want to keep it streetable so i need adual plane intake and not too wild of a cam.

go with a midle cam, is ure car auto or man? Supercomps are sweet headers:) Id go with a holley Double pumper... have ure cam, intake and Heads all done, ported, to match for max power...

you want to do heads and cam, 305's have a horrible head and combustion chamber design (the least efficient ever produced) they also eat cams, there have been people getting as much power as a 350, but for 3 times the money and work, if your serious about making power get a 350 and swap it, externally they are identical

chevylover930 01-26-2005 11:51 PM

the cams mess up under high rpms and i dont wanna rev mine over 5000 so i want the best torque combe i can get (cam specs?,best intake to match?)

archemedes 01-27-2005 09:12 PM

buy an edelbrock performer system best bang for the buck, then throw the pos carb in the trash and get a demon (I have yet to have an edelbrock carb work for me)
