Or what I have already? The SLP High for system. Im looking for a better ram air induction. What do you all think is the best out there? That will be my next mod.

I was looking at a system sort of like that also, i think it was called vortex or somethin like that.

both work the same, ram air doesn't work well, fender well works as well if not a little better. There is a vaccuum at the opening of the hood created by airflow over the car, that's why you see racers use either a pro stock scoop that sticks up, or cowl induction

The link to RKSport.com doesn't work for me.

The ram air isnt where most of the air is taken in anyways, neither is the fender well. Have you even seen the intake of an LS1 motor? Seems to me that a Fast Toys Ram Air would be the best bet, theoretically speaking.

so the intake that is hooked to the hood isn't where the engine gets air? ram air is an appearance mod only never performance, even the pontiac engineers said that with the gto, it's proven not to work, the whole purpose of these kits is to get the air from someplace that doesn't happen naturaly, air naturaly travels under the car.Even k&n says there is no way to dyno a car to show a difference in air intakes, and 99% of the aftermarket ones will give the exact same performance gain the only difference is marketing

MTI and FAST had the biggest gains

MTI and FAST have the biggest gains with a modded valvetrain. Every intake is different depending on the application its used in...

If underneath the car is best place to get air from, then I'm glad that my car gets air from there. As well as every other LS1 powered Camaro (SS or not).

not if you cjhange the intake to the ram air, that black ducy work that goes the the throttle body and air filter is where the air enters the engine, doesn't matter if it's an ls anything or a flathead air goes in one way

Unless you cover the entire bottom of the front clip with sheet metal or plastic, you will always get air there regardless of if the car has ram air or not...

archemedes 07-01-2005 12:35 PM

the first picture had a seal around the filter, so I would assume it seals to the hood
