When i shift my 700r4 from Park to drive, the car Makes a huge jolt, with my foot on the brake. then i when i shift to reverse it jolts again, these are not firm jolts either.. whats going on? and when i shift to N with brake and let off brake and shift to D or R the car almost squaks tires, i idle at 700rpm.. i will update this tomarrow...

a tach is not a shift light if you are only using for that you don't need one just put a shift light in.All cars should have full instrumentation that includes a tach

Something isn't right here, does the engine actually sound like it is running at 700 RPM?

when its first started it idles alittle high and if you shift to an gear Besides N it almost Dies then revs and launches Hard in the direction shifted will spin tires if no brake applied, when the car is warm and you shift it Makes one huge Jolt in the direction shifted and you hear the rubbers or something like rubbers squak and then the car tilts a bit while in that gear you can feel the car isnt sitting straight, i have lower control arm bushings, will these help? And for rpm, I am quite positive it was 7 or 800rpm, i was waiting for someone and i was bored and i was looking at the rpm and i really think it was 7 or 800 and it was very warm at this time.. i might have had the car in drive, cause this someone was running into the post office and right back out.. about 5 minutes...

um to add to before when going up hill it shifts down smooth the first time, but then it shifts down lower gear and it acts like i let off the gas shifted down and punched it, but ive never done anything like that, ive always babied it.. and if i do need a rebuild how and where would you suggest and how much will it cost? just a rough estimate would work i guess, i'd think theres people here who have had their tranny rebuilt...

Hey i am looking into needing tranny rebuild to see how much it would cost i am not rich, but someone will have to do it for me i think.. ive never rebuilt a tranny, i got the new yearone catalog and they got something called Valve body performance improver kits, Reduces shift time, provides more positive shift in every gear. kit includes seperator plate, springs, check *****, pan gasket, installation hardware and instructions for 31.00. plus shipping and all of that Bs

Then they have a tranny filter that i can mount outside the tranny uses a filter like the the stock engine oil filter, but it filters through the cooler lines, but i bet that its filtering what has been through the pump already, and parts of the tranny??? which matters?? I think it might but i am not an expert on tranny's

I don't rebuild my trans either (I have done a couple it wasn't fun) the shift improver kit won't help you, and year one is high on it (they are high on everything) only use one from the company transgo. if the filter is clogged it can do strange things so changing the fluid won't hurt.that external filter I'm not sure if it works or not I looked at it once too
