When the wiring and engine management is not the original and custom designed and installed It's almost impossible. Like B6T said you would have to know exactly what I bypassed and where I hid the relays. And I'd give you a week and you'd never find them in my rabbit. I took into account stupid criminals when I wired it. If they want my stereo, take it. It's 7 years old anyway. and the volume down doesn't work. LOL

If somone wants your car bad enough they are going to get it.You can have all the kill switches in the world.

rabbitman 07-07-2005 07:04 PM

I realize that. But unless they know the car they're not going to waste their time.

Cerberus 07-08-2005 05:13 PM

JRP, I wanna get this straight though:

#1 the theif parked his car (the white crap shoot in the pic) and boosed yours? WTF

#2 did you get the car back?

#3 got any updates? has he been arrested?

TurboSupra12 07-08-2005 09:11 PM

^^
1) yes he parked his car there

2) no, he didn't get his car.

turbocivic 07-08-2005 09:36 PM

thats ed, people are getting brave stealing cars during the day.

JIMMY54 07-10-2005 02:21 AM

Anything can be stolen..... however a car well protected can only be towed outta there.

Kill switches are the way to go. I've worked on cars, all kinds and a hidden kill switch won't be found. It could be anywhere, any button on your dash can be used and a switch can be placed anywhere.

Sucks to hear that someone tried stealing your car, especially at your work. Keep it parked front of the store if possible. Or atleast somewhere you or others can keep an eye on it.

Never been to the new location.

LOL my car is hard enough to start with all the switches on!! LOL

just glad to hear it didnt get ripped and he got scared off .....but my god what a tool

It does have a shift lock that I use to lock it in gear, and a parking brake lock to lock the park brake. The other way I make sure my car is still there is quick release steering wheel. Cost approx. $200. Lets see them steal it when there is no ignition to break, parking brake locked, lock in gear, and won't turn over. They can try and steal my stereo, but I don't leave the face plate on it.

Sounds like a it would slow a thief down by what, 30 seconds. Its not hard to scope out a car, see what they are using and then return later to take it. Not hard to carry a sterring wheel, bolt cutters to cut the brake cables, look for the ingnition by pass, disconnect the the shift lock. If its not alarmed, 2 guys would have it in about 5 mins. Now on the other hand, I could have it in about 3 mins with or without an alarm. The big advantage of driving a towtruck, no car is secured enough. No, I am not coming after your car, I am not drivng towtruck anymore, got bored of doing repo's.

Unless you feel like towing a car and having it scrape along the ground throwing sparks everywhere (because thats not suspicious at all...) then nobody will be towing my car, (unless a flat bed, even then its a pain). It is to en low. Not to mention NUMEROUS home made security devices, oh and plus the fact that it never works anyways so you won't even be able to turn it on. :retard: :knock_tee

I guess you have only had amature tow truck drivers. There is not a car around that I can't tow with a wheel lift truck. But you are right, lowered cars take a little bit of time to hook up without doing damage to them. Thats why I carried a sizzor jack. All that is need is 2" clearance a couple of blocks of wood and its all good. No damaged to the car, unlike the guy trying to put it on the flat bed. 9 years of towing and only ever damaged one oil pan. It was some old dodge with a broken suspension. This would require more time and another person to assist. The guys that drove the flat bed, used to hate me as I would never pass anything off to them.

out smart anyone , even the smartest

try pulling / disconnecting a spark plug wire , the person trying to steal your car will never suspect it , one thing my shop teacher told me back in highschool , what do you guys think ??? , also what do you guys think of the club ? , is it really that easy to brake , also one more dumb thing , my friend had a great idea for an car alarm , the alarm goes off and after 1 minute , once the crimnal is inside the car , fake smoke starts to come out of the car everywhere , this would confuse the person so much , maybe enough to make him leave your car alone and run away , hahahaha , yeah i know that's dumb , i just hate people who steal cars just want to see them suffer as much as possible

thanks

keep up the good tips , learning a lot
