I wanted to watch some of my car vids on the 34 inch TV. So I burned some to a CDRW but for some reason the 360 couldn't read the cd. I said ok let me try an external HD and yet still no luck finding the vids through the USB.
I did a little online research and it turns out you have to have a Window Media Center PC (aka windows pc made in 2005+) and stream the vids to the 360. So yeah I cannot use my 360 to view vids without paying $150 for the media center BS upgrade. :banghead:

what's great is the media center pc is a worthless pos that rarely works (the actual media center ones not just a generic pc) why not use a program like myhtpc? or buy a real dvd player instead of using one that is as good as the $39 kmart special (in reviews in my trade magazines they rated the 360 as one of the worst quality dvd players made today)

Which is probably due to the fact that they rushed it out into the world.
Again, why not use a different cd format? CD-RW rarely work in different types of players... Youre much better off using a R cd, those would be more likely to work.

No, theyre just becoming better at preventing pirating now... Now if you mess with any activation files, and windows service pack 2 recignizes that youre bullshitting them, they give you a nice blue screen and wont allow you to start up windows again. It sucks.
