Everybody says that good music is dead, today. That's not really the issue, it's the popularity of mediocre to crappy music that is easily accessible, or more often than not shoved down our throats.

No, GWAR rules. They take a bunch of psuedo serious music and grandize it and make fun of it. Also, they spray blood, which is just neat.

Metal, as I knew it, is dead. It could make a comeback, I mean, they did play Nightwish at game 7 of the NBA Finals. But with bands like Slipknot, Linkin Park, Creed (yeah, look at hit parader's top 100 metal CDs, they count Creed) and Drowning Pool claiming to be metal, no one even remembers what it is anymore.

Most people that do still claim to love metal either love that *****, or are like "Yeah, I'm totally into Def Leppard". Where are the Kreator and Sodom fans? Where are the Emperor fans? The smirk of todays metal fan when Iron Maiden is mentioned sickens me. "Aren't they a glam band?" Honest to god, someone asked me that.

VH1's metal moments consisted of 80 things that Kiss, Def Leppard, Poison, and Motley Crue did. They had 3 or 4 metal bands total. I'm pretty proud of them for mentioning Mayhem, but c'mon guys. Even worse, VH1s 20 worst metal songs contained an ICP song. ICP!?!?!?!? How are they metal exactly?

VH1 aside, when it gets right down to it, metal is completely self defeating. The whole point of being metal is to tell everyone else to **** off, but by doing that you drive away a fan base. Newcomers feel so alienated that they don't even bother.

Oh, Strapping Young Lad will be at that show too. I'll post a pic of their lead singer/guitarist with our lead singer/guitarist. It's amazing how they look almost identical.

if you watch mtv r vh1 for music you doing it wrong, tehy haven't played music for years (at least since headbangers ball was canceled and I mean the real one not the crap they pass off currently)alot of the problem with music today is young people, your told by your parents what to like and believe it

Anyway, the report from the show.


Unearth was far better than expected, and Chimera's new stuff was kinda cool.

Gwar kicked ***, but mainly new material which was a bummer.

Strapping Young Lad played before we got there

Aside from that, nothing too exciting, met Devon and the drummer from SYL which is cool. Passed out a lot of Cursed Eternity CDs, and met a lot of hotass drunk chicks (my favorite kind)

Anyway, don't deny it, I am your hero.

Though I'm not that into Slayer, I must say that Reign in Blood is my favorite song to drive to. Back out of the garage during the intro, rev the engine for the rest of it, then just tear up the streets for the rest of that evil *** song.
