AIM Triton
Has anyone tried this program yet? I downloaded it, used it for a week thinking "maybe I'll just get used to it" buy it by far was the worst ever AIM version I've ever downloaded. I really hope AIM doesn't continue the DNA of that program.

They got rid of direct connect, which I really liked. Instead, you have to use file transfer and download the images and then manually open them, which is easy but still a pita compared to direct connect. The file and talk features never worked for me, I tried with a few different people and I got errors each time, so either my logitech webcam and standard mic aren't compatible with the software, or triton just doesn't work right. Then the IM catcher... good idea, not the best way to use it, though. If someone IM's you and it goes to the catcher, it doesn't make a sound... either that or I just am deaf. If you click links in people's profile, it opens in this AOL explorer that was packaged with AIM. I swear, AOL is the next Microsoft, packaging everything they can of their own software in with something as basic as AIM...

I kinda like it.. keeps everything in one window. I like it better than whatever version I had on my old desktop since it does basically the same thing but all I gotta do is click on diff tabs. I'm sure there are better versions out there tho. It's harder to get this one to connect and receive files/pictures. I just got a new laptop and put aim triton on it and can't get it to receive stuff from the main comp in the house that my sis has some songs on I want to transfer over.

lets not forget AIM is free, thats why they package it with so much ****. Try to sign up for a free website hosting service, you will find the same thing. They try to advertise to make money since theyre giving it off for free, and they know they can do whatever they want because if they get enough complaints theyre going to tell everyone the same thing I just said.
Yeah Triton sucks, Ill make sure to hang on to the version I have now. Video worked for me only once on this version and thats cause my and my gf had the same exact camera. File transfer and direct connect, I couldnt use an AIM program without them, I use them all the time.
