ALL DRIVERS BEWARE:
New Ontario Traffic Regulations in Force Starting Sunday, Sep. 30
Recent changes introduced to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act become fully enforceable starting this Sunday, September 30, 2007. This is not a proposal gents - it's a done deal. Particularly for the first couple months, we're going to see the police enforce these changes very vigorously.
Tell your friends, tell your family - don't get caught unaware.

As is clearly indicated in the legislation and the associated regulation, these changes came into effect on Sunday, September 30. That means 12:00am Sunday morning, for that entire day, and continuing thereafter.
You might think it's a pointless distinction, but the 28 people charged under these changes on Sunday would certainly disagree. If you'd been one of them, jdmh22, perhaps you'd be encouraged to do a little reading next time, before trying to tell everyone how it is.

I heard some of what I read in that Toronto Star article on the news.
The end of that article makes it sound like they are waging war - and they’re readying an arsenal for the task — "aircraft, new equipment and unmarked patrol cars that are more difficult to spot than ever"
Maybe one day ppl will realize that supporting a new law brings with it soo much more than just what the law makes it sound like, as in this case being non-street racers being nabbed under the street racing law, too funny and oh so scarry - way too much power to cops - it's Judge Dread for real now
It sounds like it's just the OPP enforcing this.

I'm recruiting a bunch of my friends to all drive on the 407, sidebyside, at 100 km/h.
During a weekend or something.
Then maybe these ***** will figure out that 100 km/h is obsurd for that style highway.

Guarantee that they won't even notice (or care), but have fun pissing off fellow motorists!

yup, him and a buddy were driving side by side on the 401 (I believe) and he got nabbed driving a astro van (or something like that). He did that to protest getting some other BS ticket where yer damned if ya do and damned if ya dont. I think originally he got a tix for passing a motorist, or something rediculous.
They may veiw it as intentionally not letting vehicles pass [which falles under this new law] and or endangering other motorists/hazzard [again falling under this law]
actually its soo vauge that they can nail ya with anything.
I heard somewhere that a bunch of ppl are organizing to drive with vid cams mounted in their cars to catch cops speeding when they are not using their cherries and sirens, following to closely, changing lanes erratically and then demand these cops get fined/ticketed/or even nailed under the new law themselves.
