So just curious ... How much, if any fabrication, would it need to get thrown on to an LT1? I heard SC's are much easier to install and so I was leaning that way (for in the future, when I have more money).

Same amount it'll need to get bolted up to an L36... just piping, an oil line, and a mounting bracket. I'd probably recommend relocating the battery on an LT1/LS1 to the rear of the car, as well.
S/Cs are significantly easier to install, but they're significantly more money.
Piping for a turbo setup shouldn't go more than $1,200 USD.
