you know why techs are so time obsessed? cause thats how theyre paid to be. ive been there, it sucks *****. the faster you work the more you get paid, (flat rate).
example:
you have 2 oil changes (L.O.F) booked, which pay 0.5 hrs each
a fast tech can do an LOF in 15 minutes or so depending on the vehicle
the tech does 2 LOF's in half an hour.
he has made a full hours wage in half that time which lets him do more work.
say he has 4 more LOF's booked, he completes all 4 in one hour, he has now done 3 hours worth of work all before his morning coffee break.
and that is why most techs are crooks.

just beacuse acouple of two bit mexicans rip ppl off dont say all mechanics are crooks. I work at a gta ford dealer and i have never seen people bend further over backwards for their customer, all that those places are doing is giving themselves a bad reputation and they wont remain in business very long. Thats why people tend to go to the same mechanic over and over becasue you have to build a relationship with these people. And also, If you are going to a place that performs an oilchange service in 6 and a half minutes waht do u expect?????
