BodyShop Trouble Bodyworks in Brampton
BODYWORKS AUTO COLLISION
It all started last year when I had brought my fathers 2000 Nissan maxima into a Auto body to be touched up and have some Stillen ground skirts installed. I drove around a few places in Brampton collecting all kind of quotes and researching them online to see about past experiences. Bodyworks was the place that I ended up going with, not the cheapest quote but they have a lot of recommendations behind them and have been a part of the better business bureau since 2003.
Worst mistake. I dropped my car off Monday with all the skirts and expected the car back Thursday. Everything was going to plan. Thursday rolls around I get a phone call “ car is all finished come pick it up”. Great, As I roll up car looks good from far, but as I pull beside it I notice the colour is off. I complain to the shop owner, and he says it’s the type of urethane of the skirts and the age of the existing paint that he cant match it. Fine, after hours of going back and fourth I give in, pay up, and take the car home. 1 month goes by I decide I’m going to wash my civic and the maxima. I pull out the garden hose and with a regular spray attachment began to wet the car. I spray the lip kit, and to my amazement all the paint begins to peel right off. As I inspect and look more closely, it doesn’t even look like he applied primer to the skirts. I start spraying the side skirts and the same thing happens. I was pissed. After spending $1500.00 this happens. I contact the body shop and notify them of the poor quality. He tells me to bring the car back in and they’ll fix it at no cost.
Now this car is a daily driver. I couldn’t bring it in that instant. Its about 4 months that pass, my father decides to go on vacation. While he’s gone I decided to bring the car in to be painted and get some other rust fixed. The car goes to the shop and the owner says no problem, we’ll paint the skirts and fix the rust for $600.00. Fine I leave the car there Tuesday morning, expecting it to be completed by Thursday. Here’s the catch!!! I didn’t sign any papers to have work done on the maxima. Thursday comes around I go pick the car up. The skirts are painted. Rust isn’t fixed. I go to the owner and inquire why the rust isn’t fixed. He states “oh you didn’t ask me to fix that. But here’s your bill of $600.00”. Now I try to calm myself down before having a conniption. I plead to the owner that’s was we discussed., and I refused to pay. He the says “if I don’t pick up and pay for the vehicle I’ll charge you storage fees.” $50/day.
I loose my cool, go to the police station to ask what can be done, but because there’s no paper work I cant do anything about it. Unfortunately I had to pay the $600.00, I’m filing a complaint under the better business bureau, and posting it on every automotive forum I can find. So people beware

way too often this happens. i got screwed over most of the times dealing with these ****s. Most of them are from third world countries where incompetence is common and ethics are laughed at. And because of the abundance of such idiots in the industry, the ones that do speak english, also can afford being dumb, or if competence is their thing, incredibly expensive.
