sooo the story is as follows....
im looking for a 03-05 caddy cts, looked at a few. came across one that was average to good price on the trader. it was perl white with 84km and it was $13,300....private cts's go for about that some higher some lower...anyway..
the guy says he is origional owner and he is in the process of moving to usa for work as soon as the school year is done so his daughter can finish the year or something like that. she stays with his wife and he lives in usa during the week and canada on weekends. now the first time i called him i was already questioning this story because i swear when he picked up the phone he was at the car auction.
anyway we arranged to meet at my parents house in mississauga, i was on my way there that day anyway and he said he lives in an appartment that is only a couple min away from there.
so he told me that it was hit in a parkinglot but not bad and it was only the bumper was painted...note...i can spot a repainted car really well...in mine and my friends opinion im the most pickey when it comes to paint and if its painted ill find out.
so he shows up...a polish guy late 30's - early 40s..thin about 6"0 short hair. (description is part of warning i wish i took a pic of him that woulda been better)
seems somewhat honest but speaks broken english thus making lies a little easier for him and harder to track for potential suckers.
i checked out the car, looks great from 5-10 feet away. first thing i noticed was the pic in the trader wasnt that car, different factory rims means total different trim package and suspension in this case. told him that car is worth about 2 grand less than the one in the pic, no lie it actually is. then i went over the car, the only part i found that wasnt replaced was the passinger side headlight, whole car painted front to back and it wasnt done recently , it had a few scratches here and there , normal wear, but paint chipping on the bumper.
my dad is a manager at a chev dealer, the guy tells him he leased the car froim new from a dealer in witby, cant remember the name, and baught it out in 06. my dad took down the VIN i took the car or a harder than average test drive, already knowing i wasnt gonna buy this car, i figured ide just give it a little spanking.
tols the guy the condition of the car is horrible but it has low km but it would cost me about 5 grand easily to fix it. he said he had 2 other people wantiing to see it that day , i said fine , im not gonna make a offer but if you dont sell it call me back and we can talk.
so we went and ran the vin at my dads work...comes up as a orlando florida car,changed owners to virginia in 05-06 i think, it was and it is a branded vehicle. car was written off , i cant remember the date off hand.
guy never called back but i had my buddy call him later that night and he said he still had it 4 sale.
so beware...and his phone number is 416-2x0-3890 its a cell phone so you cant track the owners name...unfortunatelly but watch for that number in other ads...he buys written off cars for cheap , brings them to canada so they loose the branded title and sels them here

I ENCOURAGE someone to call this guy and beet on the car in a test drive just for fun...people that do this should be shot. i even told him on the phone ill be able to tell if anything was painted and not to waste my time if it was. if he ever calls me back ill be sure to set up a meeting.....

thats bullshit. makes me wanna take the car for a test drive and beat the out of the car. report the guy to autotrader, hopefully they wont let him put cars up there anymore.

my dad said to report it to ONVIC..i dunno what that would do...but i figured if he calls me back i might tell him to meet me somewhere then blackmale him and say ill take the car toss the records at him and tell him thats illegal he can go to jail..which it is illegal for buying cars in usa and selling them in Canada without a sales licence... now i didnt see the papers cuz i didnt care to by that point but he says he has the Ontario used car package and service history on the vehicle also if i wanted he would show me the origional sales reciet....fraud anybody???

oh and he said he lived at hyw 10 and lakeshore......

OMVIC is the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Councell, Ive been out of the field for some time now but memory tells me that they license dealers, do audits on dealer sale locations, etc... The only reason OMVIC might care at all is cuz if a private person sells more than 3 or 4 cars a year (not sure of this number no mo) they are then required to get a dealer license and comply with all the regs.

Ive had experiences like that too, checking cars for other ppl, the ones I like best are the cars that are advertised as a certain trim package, then you get in the car and something about the interior just doesnt sit right with ya (but yer not sure what) than BAMM it hits ya. Some dude says its a RS/SS/GT/SE/LE/etc.. and takes a base model car and slaps on some diff badges, seats, whatever - I usually give em a fukk load of ***** for wasting my time and demand they give me at least gas money for compensation - they just stare at me with a blank face - BUSTED FUKKA

Craigslist and kijiji are just filled with it as well, I like it when a guy says that his wife is pregnant or he just got married or he is going to school and must sell his pride and joy that he has had since new, blah blah and then a quick google search reveals 500+ hits all from ads for diff vehicles for sale in the past month Pics from cars in the back of a commercial unit with no plates to pics taken in front of the auction house lol
