If they have the banquet this year is anyone going to that? For the cost, I think I might pass on it. Rather be out doing something more fun.

From Last Year's Event:

Participants will be able to take part in a full dinner banquet complete with several Guest Speakers from the automotive and Camaro world. We are focusing on speakers that had some history with our theme Camaro, the IROC! Dinner will be similar to last year, several entries’, salad, rolls, veggies and dessert. Coffee/tea, water and milk are included. Other drinks will be available at a cash bar. It’s been a grand meal for the past 3 years and we expect this year to be the same or better! While the price has increased (ONLY $1 per plate!!) the kids price has been REDUCED, so bring them along if you wish! You MUST pre-register and pre-pay to participate in the banquet. We have a limit of 230 and no tickets will be sold after June 25! At approx. 8pm, the banquet room doors will be open to EVERYONE to come on in and listen to our guest speakers. We are also having a silent auction of all kinds of automotive items. This auction will again benefit MICOPS, the Michigan chapter of COPS, dedicated to helping those that protect and serve.

Camaro Superfest 2006
These are THE dates for our event in 2006! Mark your calendar now!! The BIG news… we have a new HQ hotel… the Marriott at Eagle crest
in Ypsilanti. This is located just south of I-94 and the Huron St exit, also next to Ford Lake. This hotel is a step up from the Holiday Inn and will give our event a nice fresh look and boost. The planning Team is very excited with this change. Our next BIG NEWS is the event location! We are moving to Riverside Park in Ypsilanti!! This location is only 3 miles from the new hotel and the park setting will give all of our participants lots of room, grass and shade. Canopies will not be a concern, as everyone will have room to stake
theirs down. The park and Ypsilanti are well versed in car show and events. This park regularly holds 3-4 major car events per summer.
EMCC attends the Ypsi St Rod show here every May, so we are familiar with the setting. This location also reduces our event costs! The
park is only $300 to rent, -vcclose to $2000 for WCC. We will have to rent some porta-potties, but that cost will still be less than WCC. Our judging and HQ tents will also be less expensive, as we can use regular tents that stake into the ground, instead of the
special frame style. We can also get these locally which should give us a better price too! The park is also right next to Ypsilanti’s
Depot Town, a block of stores and eateries that will help our event. Our Friday night cruise is planned for Depot Town and hopes are we’ll have the entire street blocked off just for our Camaros! The planning Team is also hard at work, trying to get the designers of the new Camaro at our Saturday night banquet. Lastly, we have our official theme for 2006… since September 2006 will mark the 40th
anniversary of the introduction of the Camaro, that is what we will focus on and highlight all 1967 models! Our official flyer is a bit
behind schedule, but should be out this month as all of these plans get the final push and approval. Our website is being updated with
each new approval of our plans. Check it out at www.camarosuperfest.com for all of the latest information. More info as we go along…… CAMARO SUPERFEST 2006 is ONLY 6 months away!!!

Well, they didn't post anything yet. I got it off of Eastern Michigan Camaro Club's newsletter, which they post publically on their website. I can't remember which club it was, either EMCC (Eastern Michigan Camaro Club) or WMCC (Western MCC) but one of the clubs does the Superfest website, and both club's websites suck *** when it comes to updating, so I'm not surprised that superfest's site hasn't been updated or well maintained. For a once a year event, it really blows how much they don't update -- the awards from 2005 still haven't even been posted yet! Come on, that takes a whole 5 minutes and still haven't been done? EMCC and WMCC don't even have a message board, their links have been dead forever and a half. Then again, I think most of the members of both clubs are older folk that don't really use the comp that much.. atleast so it seems.

you don't have to do the banquet to hear the speakers. After the food (which you pay for) they open the doors for everyone to hear the speakers(for free). I like how the stepped up to a pricier hotel. That's not what I would consider a wise decision.

You don't have to pay. You could just go see the speakers for free, lol. You'll just be hungry.
