NOVELTY pig calendars and toys have been banned from a council office — in case they offend Muslim staff.

Workers in the benefits department at Dudley Council, West Midlands, were told to remove or cover up all pig-related items, including toys, porcelain figures, calendars and even a tissue box featuring Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.

Bosses acted after a Muslim complained about pig-shaped stress relievers delivered to the council in the run-up to the Islamic festival of Ramadan.

Muslims are barred from eating pork in the Koran and consider pigs unclean.

Councillor Mahbubur Rahman, a practising Muslim, backed the ban. He said: “It’s a tolerance of people’s beliefs.”

Take some time, think about it. Maybe read it again, and then you you can come to understand why I called you ignorant. If not please post again, and I can explain in more detail.

Okay, firstly, before you judge other people, their culture or their religion, maybe you should learn a thing or two about them. Notice how earlier I mentioned you were ignorant, the more you write, ther more your ignorance shows. Okay so let me educate you a bit.

Firstly the Quran is not a book of stories or a book that preaches violance. For those who said that please quote me something from the Quran that backs you argument. The Quran entails how a proper Muslim is supposed to act/behave and live their lives. So according to the Quran Muslims cannot eat pork as it is a dirty animal (eats it's own feces). Muslims are not allowed to eat anything made from pork or anything that might contain ingredients derived from pork (e.g. Gelatin).

Now here is the definition of sacred:
Worthy of religious veneration: the sacred teachings of the Buddha.
Made or declared holy: sacred bread and wine.
Worthy of respect; venerable.

Like I mentioned earlier, eating pork is a considered a sin for Muslims. I hope this sheds some light on that issue. And just a note, if you are going to hate people, cultures, or religions, maybe you should read a bit more about them before passing judgements.

Okay, now here lies the problem. Since the Quran is in Arabic, when it is translated in another, the translation depends on the translator himself/herself. Here are the very same quotes from another translation:

2-190. Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.

9-121. Nor could they spend anything (for the cause) - small or great- nor cut across a valley, but the deed is inscribed to their credit: that Allah may requite their deed with the best (possible reward).

9-73. O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed.

8-36. The Unbelievers spend their wealth to hinder (man) from the path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end they will have (only) regrets and sighs; at length they will be overcome: and the Unbelievers will be gathered together to Hell;-

5-51. O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.

Again, depending on who the translator was the meaning varys. Also you must take into consideration, that if the translation was from Arabic to English, or from Arabic to another language and then English. All it takes is the lack of intelligence and a bad translation, and you have people who are acting completely opposite of how they should be.

I'm not preaching to you, just explaining that you are passing judgements on people and you don't anything about the religion itself.

By they way, "Your not fooling anyone". What does that mean?

And yet again you have proved your ignorance. Where did you hear that Muslims beleive that raping a woman is purifying her. Your ignorance really bewilders me. In Islam, you are not allowed to rape anyone, wheather Muslim or non-Muslim.

And lastly, you assume I'm from the Middle East and you assume I'm Muslim, so you decide to tell me shove my sick religion (up my ***, I assume). If you want to make a reasonable argument, go ahead. But by using vulgar language and getting antsy about what I have said, you just strengthen my view that you are completely oblivious to the world around you and see it how you want to see it not how it is.

It's easy to make wild judgements and accusations, but it's not that easy to make a vaild arugment, that is backed up by proof and knowledge, not personal opinion, now is it?
