Car ideas...

Wat do u guys think of a 1989 H22A Honda CRX Si with a 75 shot of nitrous.
I can get a 1989 CRX Si without an engine for 750$ great condition no rust interior is ok but seat swill be removed in place of racing seats so no big deal and rear seats will be eliminated due the weight reduction.
I found a complete H22A engine swap with tranny and mounts and all for $2300CND. My friends shop is willing to do the swap for me for $1200-$1500.
The nitous kit is about $600-$700.

so
car 750 + engine 2300 + labour 1500 + NOS 650

all together about $5200-$5500.

plus seats and carbon hood round a $1000. but no rush for those yet.

So for about $5200-$5500 i can have a light 1989 CRX Si with a H22A engine and 75hp shot of NOS. This should make atleast 200Hp at the wheels if not more i belive. this should be ok for low 14seconds or (high 13second 1/4mile runs with slicks).

You guys think this would be a good investment???
Thanks for ur input appreciated greatly.

if your in canada/toronto, screw nos. too much hassle, if cops or insurance catch you, might as well do this => lol. i'd say turbo all the way, that way if you decide to mod the bottem end, you can just turn up to boost. oh, and a crx for that price is really good, compared to what ppl are asking these days.... go for it, it should be low 13 seconds/ high 12's depending on bolt on mods and/or turbo... i've heard of a certain eg with an h22 run 13.6 or 13.7 with a n/a h22. your lightweight crx with mods should be faster

Thanks that helps out alot. I would get a turbo or supercharger but i heard that a H22A is very cramped insid ethe chassis of a CRX Si since the negien is bigger. SO Bigger headres mite not fit and etc. Also wen installed the hood mite need a scoop or cowl to make room fo rthe negine which iwouldnt want.
I dunno i just heard its gonna be a tight squeeze.

oh and also teh turbo is abou 2000$ and nos is 600 so for the summe ror atleast first year i would go nos on teh track till i save mro emoeny for a turbo or bigger upgrades. Rite now im just speaking of bang fo rth ebuck cuz i have about $6000 to play with. And teh H22A Crx Si seems to be the fastes for teh money With teh nos. Cuz it should run high 13's so ive heard.

i am helping him. im helping from making a stupid mistake. why spend 5+ grand on a 10+ year old car when in the end youd probably forget which car is yours when walking out of the woodbridge tims since there is 5 parked beside yours that all look the same. spend the money and get something good and original. **** what people here say. hell, you can **** what i say, but guess what, im not the only person sayin it, and if you think i am, then you need to get out more if you think this forum speaks for the rest of the world.

1. USDM CRX has nevr ever had a back seat from the factory.
2. That car costs you almost 6 k. Which you would never get. A car is very rarely a good investement, unless either you have hookups for parts, do the qwork yourself, or u are a thief.

Try and get a cheaper lighter platform. Like someone mentioned a CRX.

$750 is too much for a Rolling Chassis.

Also, if you go pre 1988 you get away without e-testing EVER!.

Keep those things in mind.

Build what you want though. It's your vision , your money and your ride.

alot of good opinion guys i appreciate alot...

so here is wat i have...
i noe that a pre 1988 crx wont work cuz of the front springs being to weak to support the engine and also sumtin biut sum connectors as well not to sure. Apparently it easier to put into a 88or89 crx.

As for turbo i heard its very hard to get a turbo into a h22a crx because its very crammped in there and i dun wanna **** anything up/ Also the reason for choosign a h22a is beacause i think it out powers most honda engine swaps and is fairly cheap wen u think of it

200Hp and 148lbs/tourque

so it seems really good. My ideal goal is to have a non turbo crx runing high 11s a lil sleeper
basic N/A honda. The nitous would be just for track ofcourse as teh extra spank of the rear end. Keep ur opinons coming though everythign is appreciated greatly.
