Rich nothing, I'm a volunteer firefighter and I go to school. Last time I checked, that doesn't rake in a whole lot of duckets.

Your not rich by any means but your far from average pay too(average people don't own a C5 vette for an extra ride).

seriously, a coblat is a cheap, low class car. Anyone who is buying one is either lowering their standards, or a 16 year old kid.

Then what would someone like me and Camaro94 be? I'm not 100% sure about her but I know I cannot afford an 18K car right now.

No but you can afford a Camaro which is in a higher class. Albeit, its used and whatever, but its the principal of the whole thing. I think the cheapest new car you buy right now is a Kia with a sticker of $8000. If said "who can't afford a Kia", you don't necissarily think of the price tag when it is brand new, but moreso of what it's worth beyond that.

The Cobalt is a Cavalier, the bottom of the barrel when it comes to GM cars. I was in no way shape or form, trying to call you poor by putting myself on a pedestal, so don't get the wrong idea - It's the shear principal of the "cheap" car.

True, but it seems the cheap cars are catching with the more expensive models when it comes to performance. Seriously the Cobalt with minor mods can hang with an LS1.

I'm sure a Cavalier could do the same thing.

What minor mods could you do to that car to get it to hang with a LS1?

What is your definition of hang, because you could really get someone lost in that if they thought that a huge air filter and chrome valve covers could bring them into the 13's.

Cheap cars are really not doing much of anything. They build these cars with the premise that they are high performance machines and could do anything that any high end sports car could do. Take for instance the SRT-4. Everyone talks about how it is so fast and could hang with a LS1, blah, blah, blah. I'm pretty sure its a neon with a blower. Last time I checked, a neon was used for nothing more than toting around town, or taking your kid to school. When people say "its still a Neon", well it is. Any LS1 is built to go fast, the aerodynamics of the cars, the suspension, everything. These high performance "cheap cars" are nothing more than a cheap car with different valve timing or a blower. Please tell me you see my point and are not arguing just for the sake of it.
