Counter-Strike Source anyone???
 

OKay, so I know we all have computers, but gaming computers is the question. When I was younger I played a LOT of games, but the only game I find myself playing in spare time is Counter-Strike Source. It's the counter-strike mod for Half-life 2. If ANYONE here plays it, we should exchange info so we can play together. And if ANYONE has HL2 without playing counter-strike, START PLAYING. And if anyone doesn't have the game or a computer that can play it, BUY THEM, PLAY IT, and then we can play together. lol ... I don't know why I like it so much. Its one of the more true 2 life shooters, and you can take out them damn terrorists. ;)

All my other gaming is centered on my roomates XBox 360, but this game is addicting. :)

Yea, I play CS:S. Fun game. In-game name is same as my screen name here. Phate. PM me if ya wanna play sometime. It is indeed a fun escape game that you dont have to have hours to spend to have a few quick rounds of fun in.

i have...oldschool CS, but rarely even play it.
But someday i may end up with cs:s...it looks sooo nice!

There is also a sub mod called ZOMBIE MOD, and it is soo fun. You try not to get bit by zombies, and fend them off with AKs and M4s. :D This is a zombie hung up.

Phate, go to your "friends" list in game, add me as "Midtown_33". Everyone else with CS:S do this too. I sure hope more people play this. It would be so fun to get a bunch of PC people to play together. Haha, start a ****** clan or something! :D

zombie mod is great, ive been playing dystopia its a free mod you can download off of steam its fun stuff.

I still like 1.6 better. I did a tourny last year playing source for the first time, and I didnt really like it. I love 1.6, and I own at Wal Mart (You know this Jason ;)), but seriosuly, you ever wanna play 1.6 let me know, I havent played it in so long, but I love playing with friends, its more fun that way.

1.6 > source in SO many ways...Source looks good but the gameplay sucks...u dont need skill to own in source. 1.6 Is where the comp is at and where u NEED skill to play it.

BF2,CS > CS:S

While I agree on the skill part, after playing CS:S for a year or so now, coming from 1.6... going back is impossible. The graphics and dynamics leap is too far. Play source for a couple months and you'll see what I mean.

I stick with 1.6 cuase I know all the maps, Im used to them, the weapon dynamics, and movement. Same reason I use IE over FF haha.

you know what suck i boguht this comp brand new hoping i can play source i had more then the minimum requirements still doesnt work thoguht lags to hard so i jsut paly 1.6

hl2 is a pretty intensive game.. and I dont know of any computer probably that comes with a decent gfx card for the game when you buy it... unless you spend liek 1500 on a computer.

i dont like the HDR lighting either it bogs my computer down big time.

Yeah, to be honest, same happened for me. I bought a brand new $1500 comp last lear hoping I could play source and Doom3. It is a 2.8GHZ dual processor, 1 gig ram, 250 GB hard-drive. Well, it wasn't even close to playing Source. It met every spec, including graphix, but it just wasn't enough. The next day I went out and bought a $200 graphix card (ATI Radeon X700e PCI-express 256mb) ... And ever since I got that thing I've been able to play every new game with the graphix topped out ... including BF2, call of duty 2, half-life 2, CS:S, Need for speed most wanted. Yeah, so my advice would be drop a bill or 2 for a graphix card (ATI or Nvidia) with at least 256 mbs of ram. Then I'm sure you could join us. :D

Oh, and the HDR lighting is gorgeous on my 19" Sony LCD. Mmmm... lol

My computer is 'old' I built it about two years ago, only thing ive upgraded since then is the graphics card. It 'was' the peak of performance back then, 2.2ghz, 2 gig ram, two 100g hd's, and the recently upgraded geforce 7 550, its a watercooled system. Speaking of monitors, I got a cheapppp one from a friend that worked at best buy, a MAG, some offbrand, but I got a 22" flatpanel for 450 bucks, that was GREAT for the time, I still think it is.

22" ... Fine. You're better than me. Haha...

Lets brag to everyone that we just played CS:S and rocked everyone in the server. :D Now were in the top 10 ... for now ... until I rejoin and suck it up.

I need to get a better gfx card. I just bought one quick last year for cheap so I could at least play somea games... it was a 128, but now I wanna get a 256 or 512. Ill wait til I save up a lil more. Tigerdirect is practially givin them away right now, damn :banghead:
