Damn cops

Got an easter present today.
Cop pulled me over in a small town in WI doing 43 in a 25. Way gay.

Talked it down a bit. The ticked is for $109 which is very reasonable but still gay.

Went home....hopped on the bike and pegged 150 on the freeway. I always get jacked over while in cars.....not my bike..... yet anyways

but yeah so i hate cops. was ****** being on easter

FrYd-RyS 04-08-2007 09:30 PM

ahh man ...happy easter?

98CamaroZ28 04-08-2007 09:50 PM

FORCE_FED_Z 04-08-2007 11:07 PM

I don't get it... you are pissed because you were caught speeding going almost 20 mph over the limit and got a ticket??

I hope you never get caught doin that on your bike...you'll be taking the Ked's express for quite a while if you do...

Yeah, I was wondering about that.

Small towns use radar. GET A DETECTOR.

yeah im sorry but I have to agree.

almost 20 mph over is expected. If it was like 10 or under Id maybe reason with you, but still they have nothing better to do. Thats why I never constantly go faster than 10 over.

mxracerbrian 04-09-2007 01:36 AM

eh oh well. **** happens

i wont slow down. i just wanted to ***** a bit :). but yeah....id like to get a radar detector sometime

its funny tho. ive been pulled over quite a few times for speeding and never gotten a ticket. once this guy got out of the car i just knew he wasnt gonna let me go lol. he just had that look. i like to go fast...im sure this wont be the last ticket of the summer. ill just get one big one someday that will put me in jail...get the ol butthole bored out a bit and then maybe stop speeding

97z2801ss 04-09-2007 01:38 AM

yea tru dat

02hawk796 04-09-2007 01:43 AM

You're doing almost double the speed limit in a residential area? Hope you get nailed every time you do that, douche. Or else, you get run over by somebody doing the same.
Save the speeding for the open roads. Or the track.
Just read the news another moto-cycler tackled another deer on the highway - both lost.

I use a detector for this exact reason. If you're going to set the limit ridiculously low, I'm going to make it incredibly difficult for you to generate tax dollars off me. Taxes in Canada are quite high as it is.

Bernotas05 04-09-2007 08:05 AM

Yea 20 over is pushin it man, you could of seen that comming.

Yea thats the way it is here the speed limits are really low for the most part in the city area. If any of you ever end up on a military post dont go over what so ever. The post I'm stationed at hands out tickets for 2mph over. 20mph speed limit pretty much everywhere except the main road on post is 30 mph its hella gay when your in a hurry to get somewhere.

FORCE_FED_Z 04-09-2007 05:08 PM

Honestly most areas I give people 15mph before they get a ticket. If its a residential then its a little lower. I would think that is plenty of a window to drive in. If you are going faster than 70 in a 55 then you deserve the ticket IMO unless you have a REALLY good reason.

Nothing against you Brian- but if I caught you going 150, you would be getting arraigned right there for it and probably on the way to jail shortly there after. But on the other hand, I don't chase bikes going over 100mph so the only way you would get caught is if you wadded up the bike somewhere and I could walk up to your crippled body alongside the highway because lets face it, going that fast there isn't going to be much left if you wreck...

That seems completely fair. It's hard to go 15 over without noticing it. Maybe I'm a wuss but I don't street race or really speed at all. On the interstate I normally go about 70 so I know I won't get a ticket as there's always people passing me. I guess that's why I've never recieved a ticket in my life.

Adric 04-09-2007 05:36 PM

I go 20 over on the interstate here in Minneapolis everytime im on it. 55mph is just way too slow and hardly anyone actully goes that speed. Most people are like me and go 65-75.

Phate 04-09-2007 05:57 PM

The only reason im pissed off because of my ticket, is because I got one for speeding while passing someone going ridiculously under the speed limit. I think its smarter to get around them as fast as possible... but whatever.

**** happens, oh well. Sometimes you get caught.

X2, I get made fun of all the time for having a nice car and driving like grandma, lol. But then I ask what they pay for insurance, and ask them if there parents let them go do whatever without a curfew, of course not, I just see it as another way to show that im trustable to not go be an ***, get waisted, and wrap my car around a tree.

-Freak- 04-09-2007 06:24 PM

20 over is quite a bit and should be a given that your going to get a ticket. I'm lost as to why you thought it was a good idea to go out and peg your bike at 150 after getting a ticket. Don't drive so damn stupid or you'll end up being a donor someday.

mxracerbrian 04-09-2007 07:22 PM

hey i know i deserved the ticket. just a bummer i got one
i would have given me a ticket too :)

and i love going fast. i love adrenaline...it fuels everthing i do.

nobody else needs to reply. i dont need a mom to know that i got the ticket for a reason. youre not teaching me anything. thanks :). just felt like b*tching lol

I agree, If I ever seen that happen while i was workin Id put the hammer down on them. Even though I give out tickets for 5 mph because the post im stationed at is strict with it. Some give out for 2 over. But I barley ever work patrol because its boring and they hired a lot of GSA civilians to work it. Gotta love being Military Police.

Im suprised they didn't add unsafe lane change, if they did, that would be hella geehhy!

FORCE_FED_Z 04-10-2007 04:25 PM

Unsafe lane change is a lot less points and typically doesn't affect your insurance though...

It should! An unsafe lane change will contribute to accidents occurring far more than speeding will.

I beg to differ, but speeding is far more of an punishable offense since everyone knows the law. And There are speed limit signs posted everywhere. An unsafe lane change could be as simple as not seeing somone in your blind spot and cutting them off without really planning on it. It could happen to anyone, but speeding is another story there is no excuse not matter what the situation.

Phate 04-11-2007 11:18 AM

It was in a passing zone :p

Speed does not cause accidents. Differential in speed, however, can. If you haven't noticed, oftentimes the 'flow' of traffic and the posted speed limit do not coincide. Usually traffic flow on freeways and things exceeds this limit. So one guy going the speed limit or slower can cause an accident. However, we don't seem to ticket these people who can't maintain speed with the flow of traffic and go below the speed limit.

Let's look at it this way, you're in your lane, I'm in mine, I go past you at 75 MPH, you're doing 55 MPH. Nothing changed, I just passed you, and we're both still safe.

You're in your lane doing 55 MPH and I'm doing 65 MPH, and you make an unsafe lane change into my lane as I'm coming up along side you... do I really need to continue? An unsafe lane change presents a far greater threat than me going faster than you.

Yeah thats one bad scenario for that circumstance. I could name a ton where speeding can cause accidents also. They both have positives and negatives, both can lead to tickets, both can cause accidents.

Exactly. Court is adjourned.

TorqueDog 04-11-2007 10:47 PM

Speeding in itself is too broad though. It's 'to what degree' you are speeding. If I'm 5 MPH over the limit, I am speeding. Am I any greater a threat than the next guy doing 5 MPH less than me? No, I am not.

I differentiate between 'speeding' and 'reckless driving'.

paarman97maro 04-11-2007 11:16 PM

one example off the top of my head... going 40 vs 30 in a 25 gives you less time to stop if a baby falls on the street.. lol.

TorqueDog 04-11-2007 11:31 PM

Double-U Tee-EFF is a baby doing falling into traffic? I think someone's parents are going to jail, and it just so happens to be the parents of the baby I just made into ghetto strawberry jam with my right front tire.

paarman97maro 04-11-2007 11:40 PM

okay to sum it up, you have less reaction time.

TorqueDog 04-12-2007 12:00 AM

What am I reacting to? Some dip-o-shít who just flipped his car arse over tea-kettle into my lane? A person with 20/20 vision and half a brain who just stepped into heavy traffic on a whim? A cat with a death wish?

All these things you would be required to react to are things that other people are doing wrong (or retarded animals). Again, speeding is not the cause, merely a contributing factor. You could NOT be speeding and still not have enough time to react.

mxracerbrian 04-12-2007 12:08 AM

oh my gerd people.
dont argue about dumb junk. this board is terrible for people with too strong of opinons and no budging on them. not just this thread but so many get turned into 5 pages of pissed off people over...nothing
