Hey guys, I might be thinking of getting DirectTV. But I don't know if it will work in Canada. I was thinking of getting the dish/receiver/P5 card of ebay and installing it. Will it possible to track the signal of the DirectTV satellite? Also what channels will i get when i would insert the P5 card in, given that i found the satellite signal and i am not subscribing to their network? Let me know if some1 has an idea how all this will work.

It will work in Canada.. but the issue is that they have switched to Nagra 2 system ( which is wat Bell Express VU is currently on ). There is no known crack for it currently.. closest thing is FTA receiver but you'll need to point to 2 different satelitte to get the channels and you don't get the PPV in realtime.. you'll have to wait 2 or more days when they have encore to see it.. oh.. and no ****

Hey man, I had a directtv satellite, when they use to be out before all the cards were shot. Are you looking at the new ones with the cards, lol known as the illegal satellite. If you are than definately go for it, its sweet cuz u get I think almost 400 channels and u get everything from all PPV, sports games and almost everything, If you know someone that does the cards than go for it. Yeah they work absolutely fine in Canada, as I still have mine hooked up, just got to get a new card.

Ok so you are not subscribing to DirectTV, right? so then how many channels do you currently have? What's your current card?

As of today Direct tv is not hacked or cracked. No p4 ,no p5 .Forget it.There are ways to sub it but you don't get ppv or **** and its too much $$$. Yes Bev (bell expressvu) has gone to nag2 and is also not cracked--yet.It will be soon. Fta (free to air) is the only way to get what you're looking for. Thats "Dishnet" with about 400 or 500 channels, all ppv,all **** ,all sports packages etc.And no ecm's to deal with.

umm Direct TV is now up and running, they have found a way around it, cloning or something, but I think its about $350 to get all ur old stuff up to par, i jsut grabbed a FTA system on the weekend and I paid $300, dual LNB on single 18" dish, i get 700 channels, but yes as of Oct 16th 2005 direct tv is now cracked

fta receiver work on dishnet which uses nagra2 and nagra 2 is hacked with atmega. All those rumors are starting up because everyone sitting on a lot of cards p4/p5 cards and those are all just not worth , but yet again i have couple hundred of them
I might now be in bussiness anymore but i do have contact who still trying to hustle, matter of fact i can still get ftas for 150 bucks hahahahaha

what model and brand FTA receiver can you get for $150? I checked eBay, there are a few of them there, but all are around $200+

If you're looking to get an fta---stick with the good ones--->coolsat 4000 pro, viewsat vs 2000 or maybe a pansat 3500. Viewsat would be your best bet.All can be had for around $250-300 in the T.O area.Check around the fta forums for more info.Stay away from any clones too.The 3 listed above have great support unlike some other models.

i am just curious, getting Dishnet with the FTA receiver is it legal? either way i am going to get it, i have cut off my cable due to a load of shitty channels. I have seen people that have dishnet and it is very visible from the street. Does any1 know where I can get a good hookup with the Dishnet system?

Fta receivers are perfectly legal to buy,however no one can legally get Dishnet in Canada...fta or dish system.So what if the dish is visible from the street...most can't tell what sat. its pointing to anyway.You can always use a Bell dish if you're worried about it.Why bother with a dish system,fta is better right now.There is no hack for dish plastic yet anyway.It's coming soon but then you have to get the card programmed every time they send a ecm down.Fta has no card to program so they don't get hit like dish does. I've had my fta up since n2 was cracked with no problems at all.Just my 2 cents worth but I'd 100 % go fta.And channels...I have over 700...everything you can think of!!

shut the up buddy,. who the are you to tell me what i know and what i don't know, i jsut got a pansat 2500a and when i picked it up, my contact showed me that direct tv was up and running, he told me cause i was offered a direct tv dish and reciever from a friend for free, he showed me that it was working and he said they ahve found a way around it, maybe you're to ing ignorant to know anybetter, go to www.buysellzone.com and call a dealer and ask about direct tv smart ***, i bet they will tell you yes its cracked, CAUSE IT HAS BEEN CRACKED

care to elaborate on this? Is everything wide open...ppv,**** etc? Is there a minimum sub required? And which card are you talking..p4 or p5?Last I heard you had to have a minimum sub.

with the FTA receiver, will it get all channels from Dishnet or will it get crappy channels with alot of commercials....like cable does...FTA unscambles all channels that I would otherwise get with a subsription, or does it leave some of them out?...BTW how many PPV and Sport channels will I be able to get through the FTA receiver without subsribing to ....that is PPV of new movies and sport channels like football, and boxing...
