Does anyone use Autotrader to buy a used car?

i use autotrader all the time....but the one main thing is to research about your car.....again like 2 tone said specific forums are great cause you can read what to look for on the car and research

Also, don't be tricked just because the vehicle is cert. Look at the certification sheet and see where this happened. After that, you should attempt to contact the certification shop/garage and see what was done. A lot of times these certifications are done by friends that pass the vehicle even knowing there is something wrong.
When I was a tech in Canada for FOMOCO, we had to go by the books, thus dealerships are always more reliable than most of these small shops. So I guess it all comes down to your personal preference of where the certification should take place.
