man i have a grand am and i like the sporty look of it but i could care less about the gas prices cause i still put 91 octane gas cause 1-i work 2-i've worked on the car myself and done all the maintenance and small mechanical jobs needed to be done on it 3-after i got in a little incident i was still able to drive it back home on a spare tire, and a busted rad. So yes some domestics suck and some imports suck but who gives a its a damn car forum its for cars and the people that drive them. BTW i am a college kid and i work to pay my bills, tuition, books, insurance, gas, but i make sure at the end of the month i dont have to go selling something i bought a week ago.

i know sunoco ultra and i got a gift card cheap too i paid $700 for a $1000 sunoco card so its saving me big time whenever i buy 94 at sunoco

because its better for the engine and its lasts longer and u get better mileage without have to change the fuel filter and injectors as often.....and btw i normally put 91 and not 94, i only use 94 when i do tune-ups and oil changes

sounds like you bought into the marketing without really knowing if the extra octane will actually make any difference. meh, i dont really care, people like you help guarentee 94 will stay at the pumps for those that actually need it

well the higher the octane the less carbon deposits there is from ur gas tank to the fuel rails to the injectors, or u buy a carbon clean-up spray for $8 every 3 months cause u gonna starts burning more gas with all the deposits in there.

When gas ignites by compression rather than because of the spark from the spark plug, it causes knocking in the engine. Knocking can damage an engine, so it is not something you want to have happening. Lower-octane gas (like "regular" 87-octane gasoline) can handle the least amount of compression before igniting. yes but the whole point being, your 60* pushrod v6 with its blistering 120whp could easily get away with running something much less than 94 sunoco. but like i said, i dont mind, if everyone who doesnt need 94 stopped pumping it, sunoco would surely get rid of it due to a lack of demand
